Phil Cerasoli Writer, poet, magazine publisher, movie and drama critic, photographer, top level business manager, song writer, musician, cab driver, professional poker player, entrepreneur…all rolled up into one world-weary traveler. The breadth of this experience has introduced me to countless highs and lows, triumphs and disasters, and, in the final analysis, memorable adventures too numerous to count. More importantly, it has allowed me to come into close personal contact with virtually thousands of fellow travelers from all parts of the planet, from all walks of life. Their stories have made an indelible mark upon my soul. It is for these people that I write, hoping that my words can properly reflect some phase of their journey and somehow inspire them to do a little more, reach a little higher, love a little harder.

Transformation |
Transformation I discovered quite some time ago that one doesn’t have to scour the earth to find the secret of life - that it’s been right in front of you all along. |
A True Story |
A True Story During the course of our life, we all do some cruel and unsavory things. Reflecting upon them in later years, we would somehow like to travel back in time and erase not only the deed, but the impact our actions (or lack of action) had on another human being. |
Edgar Allen Poker Game |
The Edgar Allen Poker Game In the style of Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven With due apologies to Poe. |
Raindance |
Raindance This poem initially reflects my frustration with my inability to change the world. Ultimately, however, it confirms my determination to keep writing.... |
Apache Odyssey |
Apache Odyssey "Don't it always seem to go That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone? They paved paradise and put up a parking lot..."

One More Chance Again |
One more chance again. “Cynics know the answers without having penetrated deeply enough to know the questions” - Marilyn Ferguson |
The Grasshopper & the Ant |
The Grasshopper & the Ant I’m thinking that maybe Aesop had it wrong. |
Dirty-faced Angels |
Dirty-faced Angels So I’m sitting in this Texas greasy spoon, waiting for both my breakfast and the sunrise, when the door swings open and, with no blare of trumpets or angelic choir to announce the entrance, Jesus walks in. |
Timeless Enigma |
Timeless Enigma The older I get, the more I find myself wrestling with this unsolvable riddle. (Not that I’d be any the better for it if I were to unravel the mystery). |
Poet in a Graceless Age |
Poet in a Graceless Age Remember when gay meant happy, when Coke was a soft drink, and when poetry actually rhymed? |
IF |
IF Kipling updated. |
Prisoners |
Prisoners The most powerful shackles that bind a man are the ones placed upon him by his own mind. |
Senses |
Senses “Desperado, why don’t you come to your senses….” - The Eagles |
Traveler |
Traveler “If I stagger and wander, come to my help. You are also human beings and you are also going home”. - Tolstoi |
Voyager |
Voyager All the world's a stage... |
Wisdom |
Wisdom “If I had but the patience to wait for Wisdom’s ring, I could have ruled the earth, I think, philosopher and king.” -Cerasoli |
